This image captures Walter Pigeon, a mystery pigeon who followed me into my garage one afternoon and decided my bicycle belonged to him. He landed on the handlebars, stared at me as if he owned the place, and stayed for nearly ten minutes before casually flying away never to be seen again.
I never saw Walter before that day, and I've never seen him since.
The photograph preserves one of those rare , unscripted moments that photographers live for - a brief encounter with a wild visitor who seemed perfectly at home in the middle of my daily routine. Printed from the original image by photographer Jon D Purpura.
